EMANUEL SCHOOL, LONDON, ANNUAL VISIT JULY 2014

Emanuels with GKV Teachers

Seventeen  students of Emanuel School,London  led by Ms Uxia Casais with her colleagues Ms Geraldine Hanlan, Ms Simone Shaw and Mr Stuart Clayton visited GKV and Jayendra School as a part of their annual programme. This is the third such visit from Emanuels and is an annual feature as GKV’s partner school.

The team spent three weeks in July and August of 2014 at GKV and Jayendra. The students participated in teaching children from 3rd to 6th standards and each one of them took the children in groups of five/six to give personal attention to them.   English conversation and pronunciation, Reading, Geography and other subjects were the main focus apart from free interactions with the children to make them comfortable. Nursery rhymes with actions along with LKG and UKG children were a great hit. It was a wonderful learning experience for the children as well as the visitors from UK. The teachers from Emanuels interacted with their counterparts in GKV who  facilitated the  conduct of the whole programme successfully.

A thanksgiving function was organised on the last day and the children of GKV presented “THANK YOU CARDS” prepared by them, to the Emanuel students. In the evening a variety entertainment programme of Dance and Music by Jayendra students was organised and folk arts and music of Tamil Nadu were presented.

Here are some videos to convey the flavour of the programme:
