Education Development Day celebrations 15 July 2026

Tamil Nadu celebrates Education Development Day (Kalvi Valarchi Naal) on July 15th every year, since 2006,  to mark the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj – who is revered as the father of modern education in Tamil Nadu.  The school marked the day with various activities to highlight his contribution to education and to inspire students to value the importance of learning. In the morning, various competitions were conducted for the students in both Tamil and English. The competitions included drawing, poem writing, elocution, and essay writing. The students participated enthusiastically and showcased their creativity and talents.

In the afternoon, students from Classes IV to X assembled in the school conference hall for the celebration. The program began with a prayer song, followed by paying floral tribute to Kamarajar’s portrait. The teachers shared their thoughts about Kamarajar, his significant contributions to the field of education, and the importance of education in today’s world.The students also watched short films highlighting the life and achievements of Kamarajar. The program concluded with the announcement of the competition winners and the distribution of prizes to the deserving students. The students actively participated in all the activities and thoroughly enjoyed the session.
