GKV students awarded Hemlata Foundation scholarship

We are very excited that two of our alumni have been awarded the Hemlata Foundation scholarship after a rigorous selection process. They both come from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds and will benefit immensely from the financial assistance, mentorship, career guidance and life skills programs that the scholarship entails. 

We wish Gomathi and Nabeela  the very best in their graduate education and career goals !!

Gomathi’s father is a daily basis milk seller and her mother is a homemaker. Her younger sister is in  9th grade in a government aided school. 

Gomathi who joined the LKG class in GKV in 2012 has been consistently excellent in her academics. She scored the highest in her class in the 10th examination in 2024 with an aggregate of  98.8% . She was among the top 10 performers at Jayendra school in the 12th standard exams scoring 95.7% in the Maths , Biology group. 

 Her ambition is  to gain strong technical knowledge and develop skills in programming, software development, and emerging technologies and build a successful career in Computer Science and Engineering(CSE). .As a skilled software engineer she would like to  contribute to innovative projects that solve real-world problems. She also hopes to continue learning new technologies and achieve professional success while making my family proud. She is currently going through the Tamil Nadu state Engineering Admissions(TNEA)  process wherein she is expected to get admitted to a computer science program in a state engineering college in a few weeks. 

 Her hobbies include reading and listening to music. 

The Hemalatha Scholarship is very important to Gomathi  because it supports her education and helps reduce the financial burden on her family. This scholarship gives her the opportunity to focus on her studies without worrying too much about educational expenses and  motivates her to work harder, achieve her goals, and build a successful future. 

Nabeela who joined the LKG class in GKV in 2012 has been a consistently  good academic performer. She scored 90% in the 10th examination in 2024 and scored 82.8%   in the 12th standard exams in 2026  in the maths,computer science group at Jayendra School. 

Nabeela and her family went through a very  difficult time during   her higher secondary education when she lost her father. She overcame the emotional and psychological challenges and performed creditably in the 12th standard exams and also was successful in preparing for and being awarded the Hemalata Foundations scholarship. 

Nabeela’s mother is a homemaker and her sister is in 12th standard at Jayendra school. 

Her goal is  to pursue a Bachelor of Technology  degree in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) .  She is awaiting counselling for the same which is expected in a few weeks.

Her other interests are reading  and tailoring.

Here’s what Nabeela has to say about her experience at GKV and the importance of the Hemlata Foundation scholarship.

‘My experience at GKV has been very valuable and enriching. The institution has provided me with a positive learning environment, supportive faculty, and opportunities to develop both my academic knowledge and personal confidence. My time at GKV has strengthened my interest in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and motivated me to pursue higher education with dedication.

The Hemlata Foundation Scholarship is very important to me because it would significantly reduce the financial burden on my family and help me continue my education without added financial stress. Receiving this scholarship  brings me closer to achieving my goal of pursuing a career in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. It would not only support my studies but also encourage me to work harder and make the 

most of the opportunities available to me.”
