Birth Anniversary celebrations of Founder Tress – Mr. A. Krishnamurthy – 1st Feb 2026

On 1st February 2026, Mr. A. Krishnamurthy – the founder trustee and visionary behind Gita Krishnamurthy Vidyalaya , who passed away on 7th November 2025, would have turned 90. The birth anniversary was celebrated at the school with great reverence and enthusiasm. On the evening of the 1st ,  photograph of Mr. Krishnamurthy was unveiled at the entrance lobby of the school , next to the photograph of his wife Mrs. Gita Krishnamurthy in whose memory the school was founded. This was done by Mr. Venkat Krishnamurthy, his son and trustee and Ms. Supriya Krishnamurthy his daughter who then   shared their cherished memories of Mr. Krishnamurthy . Some parents also spoke about the school and the invaluable contributions of the founder. A session of bhajans was held in his remembrance. 

Even though it was a Sunday, students and parents participated wholeheartedly and were delighted to be part of the celebration. Games such as kho-kho and handball were conducted, and the winners were encouraged with medals. The function concluded successfully, and snacks were distributed to the children, who thoroughly enjoyed the day.

On 2nd February, various literary competitions were conducted for the students by Beehive Communications Club. This provided a platform for the students to explore and express their spoken and written English skills. The BCC trainer conducted live interviews with students . Their responses were clear, confident and impactful. Other events included drawing and pencil sketching , Thirukural recitation, dumb charades, mathemagic, essay writing etc . On this day, a grand lunch was arranged for the teachers along with Mr. Venkat and Mrs. Supriya, during which the teachers interacted warmly with them. In the afternoon, around 3:00 p.m., students assembled in the lobby and the winners of the competitions were honored with gift vouchers. The two days of celebration was truly memorable for everyone involved – it is planned to have a similar celebration every year on the 1st of February.
