Through a process of drawing lots , 45 students were selected from over 150 applications for admission to LKG. 24 girls and 21 boys started their journey of learning at GKV on 5th June 2025. The school now has a strength of 467 students (211 boys and 256 girls) with a single section of 35-45 students across LKG to 10th standard.
As has been the case in the past, children admitted to LKG come from economically disadvantaged families – 60% of the families have an income of less than Rs 1 Lakh and 33% of the students’ families have an annual income between Rs 1 Lakhs and 1.5 Lakhs. Moreover, over 75% of the parents work in the informal sector with jobs such as driver, electrician, carpenter, plumber, cook, welder, watchman, mason etc.
